Classroom observations or monitoring shall be conducted openly with the full knowledge of the teacher for the purpose of improving professional performance and as a means of assuring the use of the most competent educational techniques. Summative evaluation for career teachers will take place prior to May 10th. Summative evaluation will take place for probationary teachers prior to the end of the first semester and prior to May 10th in the second semester. The teacher shall be afforded the right to discuss the contents of the observation form as well as any other notes taken during the observation period. A copy of the observation form shall be furnished to the teacher no later than (10) ten days after the day that the observation is completed. Career teachers shall be observed a minimum of one time prior to May 1st. Probationary teachers shall be observed at least one time in the first semester and one time in the second semester.
